First try

Posted on

Now you know the first part of my news, and I thought that I’ll show you one or two of my first try-outs with my new camera. I would prefer not to do that, but I need feedback from all of you, so I sort of have no choice. πŸ™‚

Here is one of my very first serious attempts to use my new toy. I took these with the ‘normal’ lens, it would probably have been a lot better if I used the zoom-lens. I’m definitely not happy with how it turned out, but at least it’s colourful and the subject of my focus is close to being ‘in focus’…

About zelmare

In a nutshell: I'm a woman of 'a certain age', I recently moved after living in the same area for 27 years, i raised 3 absolutely fabulous kids (I'm sure you will hear a lot about them, since I am a very proud mama), got divorced, and in due course, met and fell in love with the most amazing man, and i moved to a small town called Nylstroom. A lot of my blogs will most probably be about my new life, my family and friends, and my interests, which are taking pictures, travelling, food, re-decorating, music and books. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of lovely new friends and interesting people! :)

  1. Awesomeness!!!! The telephoto lens would probably have given you an image closer to the one you had in your head – but I don’t think this is bad at all!!! The kit lens has its vices!!!! Depth-of-Field (DoF) is good!!! Colour great!!! Well done mommy!!! Looking forward to what you post next!!! πŸ™‚ **

  3. I love the picture. The main flower is in such focus as are the ones near it, but the background is suitably out of focus. It feels almost 3-D to me. πŸ™‚

  4. I love it – subtle, slightly blurred colour in the background, and then a punch of crisp colour in the middle. It’s beautiful!!

  5. It is a great image, the colours are gorgeous, but the telephoto lens would have given you that blurred background even more. It is all practice and all experience, good luck.
