It is an ending and a beginning at the same time. The end of summer, and intense heat. The end of growth – in nature, that is. The end of having to swim or take cold showers three times a day to cool off. The end off lying awake at night, too hot to breathe.
The beginning of the slow glide into winter. The beginning of starting to wear cardigans, and long sleeve T’s. The beginning of taking an early bath and putting on PJ’s to spend the rest of the evening cozy on the couch. The beginning of a different menu – more stews, soups and other comfort food. The beginning of nature’s regeneration through winter.
No wonder it is so many people’s favourite season…
"No spring nor summer's beauty
hath such grace,
As I have seen in one autumnal face... " ~ John Donne
Hallo to you from the southern most part of the African continent - South Africa!!
To put my life in a nutshell : I raised 3 absolutely fabulous kids (I'm sure you will hear a lot about them, since I am a very proud mama), I became a doting grandmother two years ago and recently bought a house in the Western Cape, and in doing so, realized a dream I've had for many, many years.
I love traveling, which I don't do often enough. I love living a simple life - cooking, gardening, knitting and of course, blogging. There is still a lot I want to do and see in my lifetime, but time will tell how much of that I can actually accomplish.
I am looking forward to meeting a lot of lovely new friends and interesting people here on WordPress! :)
Definitely a very happy season!!
