Musings about feelings…

Posted on

My back garden.

It is mid -winter here in South Africa.

In general, winter has not been too cold, except for a week here and  a few days there, which has been icy cold. At the moment it is cold inside, but divine weather outside, so here I am, sitting with my back warming in the sun, listening to birdsong, enjoying the outdoors while writing my post. (My view from where I’m sitting. ^^)

I have to admit I am disappointed in the fact that things seem to be very slow here in blog country, I expected it to be as lively as it was 2 years ago, but there you go – the only constant in life is change!!!

So, I’m going to give it a while and see how things go. I do enjoy interaction with other people. I am definitely not only writing here for my own enjoyment, I am telling you some things that I think about and feel, and it would be wonderful to get some feedback on how you see things. You are, of course, welcome to have different opinions, please never agree with me because you feel it’s the right thing to do, or ignore my post because you do not agree with me. Tell me. I like some healthy debate!

I do feel there are way too much ‘political correctness’ these days – everybody gets hurt and feels insulted by everything other people say, and most of the times, it is only because other people see things differently, which they are allowed to, as far as I’m concerned. And everybody is so very very careful of what they say and how they say it… My goodness, it is starting to be a bit ridiculous out there. So feel comfortable with disagreeing with me!

While I’m waiting for some response, I am going to do some knitting, and then pour myself a glass of wine and just sit back and relax…

Until next time, blog friends! 🙂

About zelmare

Hallo to you from the southern most part of the African continent - South Africa!! To put my life in a nutshell : I raised 3 absolutely fabulous kids (I'm sure you will hear a lot about them, since I am a very proud mama), I became a doting grandmother two years ago and recently bought a house in the Western Cape, and in doing so, realized a dream I've had for many, many years. I love traveling, which I don't do often enough. I love living a simple life - cooking, gardening, knitting and of course, blogging. There is still a lot I want to do and see in my lifetime, but time will tell how much of that I can actually accomplish. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of lovely new friends and interesting people here on WordPress! :)

  2. You have a lovely, expansive garden, Zelmare! Very envious…and for winter, the weather looks great! I don’t know whether you have been to little UK or even tinier Scotland, but residential land here is much more limited and as a result, smaller gardens, unless you are very rich! 😁 My sister lives in Perth, Australia and both her and her partner are nurses and they have a much larger overall property than we have. Plenty of room over there!

I notice Xandre has commented on your post. Is she still blogging?

Look forward to your next post! Still thinking about the political correctness thing!

    • Hi John! Thank you. Yes, we are really lucky. In the cities gardens tend to be smaller.
Xandré is not blogging anymore, but she received e-mails that I’ve started blogging again, and she just caught up on my posts.
Thanks, and let me know what conclusion you come to! 🙂

  3. What beautiful gardens you have!

  4. Yes, blogging is slower right now. Fewer things are happening that people want to discuss as the pandemic has extended. If people depend on their activities or interactions for inspiration, and neither of those are happening, things really slow down. Stay with it; activity will increase when the pandemic passes. Whenever that is.
